First Men on the Moon: Photograph made by Neil Armstrong, signed by the entire crew
(APOLLO 11.) Armstrong, Neil. (English) Photograph of Buzz Aldrin standing on the moon with the American flag and the lunar module, signed by all three crew members: Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins
Color photograph (11 x 14 in.), original printed mount. Signatures lightly faded, some age-toning to mat, the photograph in fine condition.
A CLASSIC SPACE PHOTOGRAPH, signed by the crew of Apollo 11, the first manned mission to the Moon: Neil Armstrong (commander), Buzz Aldrin (lunar module pilot), and Michael Collins (command module pilot).
This photograph was prepared for presentation to the governor of each of the fifty states in conjunction with the tour of the Apollo 11 spacecraft and a lunar rock sample to be displayed in the state capital. This example does not bear the recipient’s name and was evidently a spare prepared in case of loss or damage. The examples presented to the governors are presumably in state archival collections.
This is a very scarce large-format print of one of the most famous photographs in the history of space exploration, taken by Neil Armstrong on July 21, 1969.
